Úlfur E. Arnalds is a cinematographer and filmmaker based in Reykjavík, working across narrative films, music videos and commercials. He holds a BA in Filmmaking from the Iceland University of the Arts, with an emphasis on cinematography.
His credits include cinematography for “Róa” by VÆB, Iceland’s Eurovision 2025 entry, and B-camera operation on Áramótaskaupið 2025 and IceGuys the Movie.
His experience spans lighting, camera work and visual effects, reflecting a desire to understand every aspect of visual storytelling. From shaping light and composing a frame to developing an image in post-production, he explores how each discipline contributes to the story. Working across these fields informs his approach as a cinematographer and helps him continually refine his craft.
